Catherine R. Regan
Sports Photographer
I have a passion for capturing the Eye of the Athlete and for finding the small details that make a moment worth remembering.
I am a graduate of the Eller College of Management at the University of Arizona, where I earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Marketing with a minor in Communications and a certificate in Sports Management in December 2025. I recently earned a Master of Science in Marketing in May 2026.
My sports photography career began as a freelance photographer for my high school yearbook by covering all sports which later progressed into other roles like yearbook editor, assistant advisor, and lead photographer. I also gained experience as a student sports reporter, covering varsity athletics through photography and written recaps that further strengthened my ability to capture and communicate compelling narratives.
I worked with the University of Arizona Intercollegiate Athletics Department for five years as a sports photographer intern, working in fast-paced collegiate environments across home and away games, media days, recruiting content, and special events. This experience sharpened my ability to collaborate across departments, adapt quickly, and deliver high-quality visual content that aligns with brand and program goals.
My approach to photography is rooted in attention to detail with intentional storytelling. As I capture the Eye of the Athlete, which means telling the story of the athlete and showcasing the direction they are heading. I am especially drawn to the authenticity and the “in-between” moments or better known as my “small moments.” These are the ones that others might overlook because those details often create the strongest connection with an audience.
I am based in Tucson, Arizona with the availability to travel to Oceanside, California or Southern California.
My goal is to build a career in sports photography with a professional or collegiate organization, one that challenges me to keep growing as a visual storyteller while doing the work I love most: documenting the intensity, emotion, and authenticity that makes athletics so powerful.
If you are looking for a freelance photographer for any sporting event or a photographer who brings a creative eye with the mindset of making sure to capture every small moment, I would love to work with you. Feel free to reach out to discuss your project or inquiry.
